Abstract
Congenital aniridia is an ocular abnormality characterized by serious hypoplasia of part or the whole iris. The incidence is about 1 in 150.000 newborns. There are, at least, two forms of this condition, familial and sporadic. The second one is frecuently associated with somatic maiformations and neoplastic tendency. We report a new case of congenital aniridia in a patient without another extraocular abnormalities. She is 11 months old and no evidence of tumoral illness has been found until now.
