Abstract

Physical, and social aspects are involved in the appaerance, diagnostic and treatment of the childhood cancer. In recent years, advances in the treatment of childhood cancer have produced changes in survival and have increased the concem with improving quality of life for long-term survivors. On the other hand, hospitalization is a very frequent happening in the life of children with cancer. The Psychopedagogic Intervention Program was used like a resource to improve children's life in hospital and preventing negative effects of hospitalization. One of the negative effects is the appaerance of inadequated locus of control. The program is described and applied in a sample of children with cancer. The statistic analysis showed the necessity of improving the program in this variable because is not demostrated the effectiveness of this.
