Abstract

Abstract The immediate crying of newborns decreases significantly if they stay in close contact with their mother (skin to skin). Several studies demonstrate that this early contact mother-baby increases the prevalence of breast- eeding just after the birth as well as 2 and 3 months later. So, the better place for healthy newborns to stay after his birth is in very close contact with their mother. The suckers who don?t cry in excess seem to cry even less if they are carried on arms for a supplementary time. The most convenient behaviour that has demonstrated to relief the infant colic has been to try to respond to the crying. In selected cases the dietethical changes can become useful (excluding the cow milk on the mother?s diet on those children breast-feeded or changing to hydrolyzed formula in the case of artificially feeded children). The dyciclomine in spite of his effectiveness in the infant colic relief , can provoke serious side effects, so they are not recommended. In any case it is very important to carry out an ?anamnesis? and a very careful physical exploration, as well as frequent support and follow-up.
