Abstract
We are focusing on the evolutional development of the executive function from an eminently neuropsychological perspective. Initially, we review the most relevant maturation patterns that occur from the first months of life. Construction of the executive function and all psychological function occur beginning with the external mediations and their corresponding corticalization and cerebral development. Finally, we go deeper into the development of the neurological substrate upon which the construct, object of the study, is established: frontal lobe or prefrontal cortex.
