Abstract
A review is made of the types of congenital malformations that have occurred during the last tree years. Of 4.991 newborn of malformations was 33,3 in 1.000. The most frequent anomaly was the congenital hip ailment (14,6 in 1.000), followed by malformations in the extremities, in the urogenital tract, congenital heart diseases and chromosomal anomalies. We cannot precise in our series any clear evidence of ingestion of drugs, exposure to radiation or of any virus infection during the pregnancy. The incidence of premature infants and of small for date was higher in children with malformationsthan in the control group. The average age of the mothers of children with chromosomal anomalies was higher than that of the control mothers and of children with other types of malformations.
