Abstract
The benign paroxysmal vertigo in childhood is a disease that affects 1-5 year-old patients, who lose their balance, fall down and feel dizzy. The authors report 9 cases with this clinical picture, which predominates in boys. The intercritic neurological reconnaissance, the EEG and the auditive tests were normal in all patients. The prognosis is favourable, even without treatment, although the dimenhydrate and the diazepam may be used to decrease the frequency and the intensity of the crises. Nevertheless the antiepileptic
drugs are inefective.
