Abstract

The files of our hospital were scrutinized for all the ovarian tumours in children under age 15 years, throughout the period September-82 April-87. A total of six patients were reported. The incidence, in the study period, was 1 case per 318 females under 15 years hospitalized. 33 % of all ovarian lesions are no neoplastic or physiologic, and 66 % are true neoplasm. No malignant lesions were found. The tumours of germ cell origin represented rhe majority. The ovarian tumours occurred in a significantly higher proportion at age from 10-14 years. The abdominal pain, and abdominal mass, were dominant symptoms. These findings
are similar to the prior reports.
