Abstract
Thirty cases of West syndrome were studied. The mean age of onset of spasms was 5 month. The sex ratio of the patients was 2:1 in favour of males. A familly history of epilepsy were found in 20 %. Two children were siblings. All the cases were symptomatic and we recognized the aetiology in 50 % (20 % prenatal, 20 % perinatal y 10 % postnatal). The 40 % had previous crisis.
