Abstract
We report a male child 2 years and 8 nths old with upper airways failure due to adenoids hypertrophy, which incresed during sleep and caused a chronic hypoxia and secondarily a pulmonar arterial hypertension with right heart failure. The diagnosis took place during a worsening of respiratory difficulty, pointing out a pathology until then unnoticed. The most important characteristics of this problem are reviewed, stressing on thinking in this complication because the importancy that a precocious diagnosis have for prognosis, and the easiness of this solution by correction of respiratory obstruction.
