Abstract
Scientific evidence currently shows us the impact of digital devices on the physical health and neurodevelopment of our children and adolescents. Their interference with healthy lifestyle habits, such as sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and social relationships, is especially worrying.
The Health Promotion Committee of the Spanish Association of Pediatrics published the Family Digital Plan (PDF) website in 2022 as a tool for managing the digital environment in each home. This plan offers general recommendations for the entire family, as well as specific recommendations for each age group, which they can choose, adapting them to their specific circumstances.
As pediatricians, we must be aware of the impact of digital media use on the health of our patients and their families and should recommend appropriate tools, such as the PDF, that can help them manage the screens in their homes.
