Abstract
In effect lead is the metal with the most extensive distribution all around the world. The many sources of child poisoning, as well as the absorption and the toxic effects even at «low levels" of exposure are pointed out. The physiological and pathological characteristics at this age are analysed. The diagnostic and screening methods are reviewed. The low cost and the usefulness of these tests are underlined.
