Abstract

Wirt the purpose of testing the systematic realization, in a programme of child health, of certain proofs of blood analytic, in the annual revisions in children between the age of five and six years, their diagnostic utility and cost have been studied. Of the verified parameters (hematology, sedimentation rate, iron, urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid, glucose, calcium, phosphorus, phosphatase alkaline, SGOT, SGPT and total proteins), it only seems to be cost-effective, in our enviroment and in this group of age, the screening of the latent anemias or iron deficiencies.
