Abstract

A 2 years 6 months old girl with Guillain-Barre syndrome was studied. She had an unstable ambulation, tendinous hyporeflexia in low extremities and cytoalbuminous dissociation in cerebroespinal fluid. She suffered a simultaneous acute infection by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). This diagnosis was carried out heterophil antibodies (positive Paul-Bunnell test) an IgM seric antibodies to EBV. The onset of a mononucleosis with a neurologic complications stands out, and likewise the mild expressivity of the classical symproms; only a membranous amygdalitis and a rash secondary to ampicillin treatment were apparent.
