Abstract
We report a new case of multicystic encephalomalacia in a male newborn coming from a pregnancy with a stillborn co-twin. In this unfrequent entity, the cerebral parenquima is replaced by cystic cavities of variable size. Although the etiology may be diverse, asphyxia
and circulatory disturbances are the most important etiopathogenic factors. Cinical findings are variable, from unexpressive to severe neurological troubles. Diagnostics is ultrasonographic. A cerebral ecography is advised in all neonates coming from twin pregnancies, both with stillborn co-twin or feto-fetal transfussion syndrome.
