Abstract
We are considering the therapeutical response of 59 short stature children to two pharmacological agents: ornithine and arginine during 6-12 months. We found a significative increase in the stature and in the velocity of growth in the use of ornithine in children with constitutional delay of growth and puberty without the appearance of side effects, althorgh this result could not be maintained after the first year of treatment. We could not find a response in family short statures nor in the use of arginine.
