Abstract

Clinical, radiological, echocardiographic and hemodynamic features were analyzed in 4 children with bicameral right ventricle. We also studied the associated anomalies and the outcome after surgical correction in 3/4 cases. The consultation reason was always a cardiac murmur before 4 months of age. The ECG was not conclusive in any case. Cardiomegaly and hipervascularity were present in the chest radiography of all patients. The band could be detected by echocardiography in 2/4 cases and 3/4 children were studied by cardiac catheterization, showing also the anomalous band. All patients associated an interventricular shunt and 3 had a subaortic ring. In 3/4 patients a surgical correction was done with very good results at short and medium-term.
