Abstract
Twenty two cases of hypernatremia during oral rehydtation with manufactured or with inadequate homemade solution were studied. The mean leve1 of natremia was 161 ± 11,5 mEq/L. The group treated with homemade solution showed higher figures of Na (p < 0.05), C1 (p < 0.025) and urea (p < 0.025) than children who received manufactured solution.
