Abstract

The purpose of this study was to informatize the neonatal clinical history, of the 3.510 newborns during 1993 in two hospitals from Castilla-León, in Zamora and León. We analyze prospectively the epidemologic data. It obtains the next mortality rates: neonatal 4.55/1.000. and perinatal 7.97/1.000. The males were the 53.16%, and on the other hand the prematurity and postmaturity percentage was 6.51% and 3.95% respectively, with an 6.69% of newborns with weight less than 2500 grs. A quarter of the newborns had neonatal morbidity. The cesarean percentage was a 12%.
