Abstract
Objective: To analyze the characteristics and requirements of the pediatric transfer in the Comunidad Autónoma (CA) de Castilla-León (C-L).
Design: Retrospective descriptive study. Patient and area: 121 pediatric patients transported in the Hospital de Medina del Campo during the years 1993, 1994 and 1995. Variables: epidemiological and clinics. Groups: patient "neonatals" and 'postneonatals': reason of the movement "diagnostic" and 'therapeutic': destination hospitals "Hospital of the Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla-León" and "Hospital of the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid".
Results: Four of each thousand births per year speclfy transfer outside of the CA C-L by specific surgery requirernent neonatal. 3% of the postneonatals who was admitted to hospital (1,3/1.000 for annual of the pediatric population) requises therapeutic movement outside of the CA C-L substantially by speclfying Pediatric Intensive Case (0.5/1.000 for annual) and Infantile Surgery (0,42/1.000 for annual). The therapeutic movements requirement outside of the CA Castilla-León is significantly greater for the stage postneonatal that for the neonatal.
Conclusion: 80 cases neonatals and 550 postneonatals. Can require annually movement outside of the CA C-L It is accurate to organize a program of Pediatric specific Transfer.
