Abstract
In this study, 462 cases of bacterial gastroenteritis were axamined in retrospect. Germ most frecuently found was Salmonella, folloved within great distance by Campylobacter. A stadistically significant decrease (p< 0,05) in the cases of gastroenteritis caused by Salmonella was observed during the years in which this study took place. The mean age of patients who had gastroenteritis caused by Salmonella (SG) was significantly higher than in other types of bacterial gastroenteritis (OBG) (p< 0,0005). Temperature in patients who had SG was higher than in those who had OBG when they were admitted to hospital p < 0,0005). Salmonella most frecuently found was the type enteritidis. Positive hemoculture was proved in 4.7% cases of SG.
