Abstract
Abstract Burns in children are accidents that have a high incidence although in most of the cases, the injuries are mild and ambulatory treatment can be provided. The classification of the burns adopts several nomenclatures, but all are aimed at providing a grading of the severity of the injuries to adapt the treatment to each one of them. In the first place, this should focus on stabilization of the patient, this following general lines similar to those of any polytraumatized patient. In the second place, specific treatment of the injuries is established according to depth and extension, tending to minimize early complications such as infection and late ones such as functional sequels.
