Abstract
Abstract Two cases of testicular torsion in útero are reported, insisting in the pour clinica and the importance of the careful exploration of the newly born in the childbirth-room. Testicular torsion in the perinatal period is an uncommon finding. Testis viability is very low, however there are cases that after an early diagnosis and detorsion, orchiectomy was not necessary. We believe that it should carry out a surgical exploration as quick as possible because if any possibility of viability exist, although is extremely remote, this decrease a few hours after testicular torsion has been produced. Surgical exploration is necessary for differential diagnosis and will always try to reduce the possible perioperatory complications due to specific neonate characteristic, preferring in some cases a programmed but early intervention. In general, it seems that has not been observed complications related with surgical operation.
